Preparing for our Maine vacation

We are planning our trip to Maine leaving Syracuse on Friday July 16, 2010. Our first stops will be to have dinner with Paul and Maggie Parisi in Lincoln, MA. Then on Saturday night we will dine with Walter and Karen Behringer. Walter was my room mte/ classmate at Emerson College. We try to see them at least once a year. I have know Paul Parisi since he was a young boy. I worked for his Dad in Boston. On Sunday Morning we will enter Maine and spend part of the day with my brother Bob and his wife Ruth at Lake Tacoma. We check in at Dunegrass, Old Orchard Beach, Me at 4:00 PM. This is a beautiful condo on the Dunegrass Golf Course.

"Old Orchard Beach lies just 20 minutes south of Portland along Maine’s southwestern coast. With seven miles of wide sandy beach, sparkling blue ocean, a 500-foot pier and boardwalk and a seaside amusement park, it’s easy to see why Old Orchard Beach is a major attraction for visitors. In fact, Old Orchard Beach has remained high on the list of the most popular resorts for over 100 years. Catering to the needs of families and visitors, Old Orchard Beach has countless recreational activities, arcades, amusement rides, nightly entertainment, free concerts, and Thursday night fireworks in the summertime." 1 "Nearby are the historic waterfront towns of Biddeford, Saco, Scarborough and Kennebunkport and the Kittery factory outlets. A short drive to the north is the rocky coast and destinations such as Boothbay Harbor, Camden and Acadia National Park. Old Orchard Beach is a small, yet exciting seaside town." 2

We come to Old Orchard Beach as an annual family tradition. We are now including our two beautiful grand daughters.
